Ewan McGregor, Craig Roberts and Freddie Highmore will spark up your summer with heartwarming family tales and complicated teen love stories. If you’re into indie romantic comedies, be sure to check out these limited releases in June 2011. Read the details here.

Two titles will greet you in the first week of June 2011. Mike Mills’ Beginners (2010) will bring you a bittersweet story about a father (Christopher Plummer) and son (Ewan McGregor) who faced a change in the family dynamics, after the elderly man announced that he’s gay and has terminal cancer. Things got a bit more complicated when the son falls in love with a beautiful French actress played by Melanie Laurent.

The second one is Submarine (2010), a British romantic comedy by Richard Ayoade. Ayoade is best known for his role as Moss in the TV series, The IT Crowd. Submarine (2010) is his big-screen debut, and judging from the reviews it had accepted, it’s considered a success.

The last one on our list is The Art of Getting By (2011). The movie was originally titled Homework (2010), but Fox Searchlight decided to change the title after the company picked up the movie in Sundance 2011. It focused on the coming-of-age story and romance that blooms between the two leading characters, Freddie Highmore and Emma Roberts.

Check out these romantic comedies and pick the movie you’ll enjoy in theater this June. Credits by IMDB.
