Romantics Anonymous (2010) is a French romantic comedy about two neurotic people that connect through the love of chocolate. It will be screened this April at Tribeca Film Festival 2011. Watch the trailer here.
Romantics Anonymous or Les émotifs anonymes (2010) revolves around the lives of Jean-René (Benoît Poelvoorde) and Angélique (Isabelle Carré). For Jean-René and Angélique, the social world is one big emotional minefield best avoided. She’s a reclusive candymaker looking for a job, and he runs a chocolate factory in dire need of her savant-like skill. What occurs when a highly emotional man meets a highly emotional woman? They fall in love, and this is what occurs to Jean-René and Angélique who share the same handicap. But being pathologically timid does not make things easy for them. So whether they will manage to get together, join their solitudes and live happily ever after is a guessing matter.
